First off I want to say that this is a MASSIVE book. You can see in the image above with the lighter for size comparison that this book is big. Coming in a 10′ 15″ in size and weighing just over 8 pounds. With 432 beautiful pages of logo design after logo design.  Along with every single logo apparently ever made. (all the good ones) you also get artist bio’s, company profiles and some style guides for your viewing pleasure.

The book starts off with a basic history of the logo, going into things like family crests and royal seals. Then progresses through history going over the first “real” logos  till eventually, you get to the modern day.

The main feature of the book is the vast collection of beautifully designed logos that will give any designer a design boner.

The chapters are broken into sections:

  • Geometric
  • Angular
  • Figurative
  • Round
  • Overlay

This makes for a very useful tool to locate the inspiration you are looking for. Let’s say you are stuck on a logo design and can’t come up with a good way to use the “S” Well turn to the Alphabetic section and find the “S” and maybe you will find something that gets your juices flowing.

With 432 pages of outstanding logo design, you will without a doubt find inspiration in Logo Modernism.  You can get yourself a copy over on amazon. I’d hurry because these are starting to become harder to get.
